Ontario's Near North has more snow than you have ever seen!

Home of the "Greatest Snow on Earth", Ontario's Near North has some of the finest groomed and marked trails in Ontario, covering over 3400 kms from Mattawa to the French River, Temagami to Burk's Falls.

The Near North is famous for self-guided tours such as the RAN (Ride Around Nipissing), RAP (Ride Around Algonquin Park) and the Park 'n Ride tour from Port Loring on the Clover Leaf trail system. All of these tours connect with the TOP (Trans Ontario Provincial) trail system.

You'll find fuel and rest stops all along the way, catering to the avid snowmobiler.

Ride alone or in groups on the well groomed trails of Ontario's Near North!

The OFSC (Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs) is the governing body for organized snowmobiling and the member clubs manage the trails.

With the increasing number of snowmobilers coming to the Near North, a new "Trail Warden" program has been initiated to keep snowmobiling safe on the trails.

From the vast wilderness to the amazing wildlife, snowmobiling in Ontario's Near North is an adventure you won't soon forget!

The STOP (Snowmobile Trail Officer Patrol) program, manned by volunteers using their own machines, has made the trails safer for everyone for four years running.

Some snowmobile trails are on private property and landowners graciously grant permission for OFSC permit holders to cross the land. This privilege must be constantly earned and protected by each club and OFSC permit holder through responsibility and respect for private property. These permits are available from local snowmobile dealers and clubs.

The views offered in Ontario's Near North will take your breath away!

For more information on trail permit costs, please go to the OFSC website.

You are required to carry either a valid motor vehicle or snowmobile drivers license. To obtain a snowmobile license, you must be at least 12 years of age. It is also mandatory to carry proof of liability insurance and ownership at all times when snowmobiling.
